Does everything happen for a reason?

Please refer to my previous post if you haven't already.

I personally do believe everything happens for a reason, it's just that sometimes that reason takes a while to become clear. Today it was a bit speedier in shedding some light. So let me go back over the past few weeks and various thoughts I've been having about my camera.

You see I love my camera, but when I saw the new Sony alpha 350 I fell in love. Sony bought out Minolta technology last year. I was sure this meant the end of Minolta. Since all our camera & lenses are Minolta that really sucked. However Sony has virtually copied and enhanced the Minolta including making them compatible with Minolta lenses. In fact the new alpha 350 is pretty much the same as my 5D with just one or two button shifts or additions. It also has live view(so you can use the LCD screen and not the view finder) which is uncommon for digital slrs. Not only that but the LCD screen tilts meaning the kids like Asa who refuse to smile when I hold the camera in front of my face will be a thing of the past. No more holding the camera down and guessing if they are in the frame, I'll actually be able to see it on the screen!

I've been having some concerns recently about my file size when selling digital images apposed to prints. What if a client blows up a picture too big and it looks like crap? My camera is 6.1 mega pixels. The alpha 350 is 14.

So why am I sharing all this info? Because I am getting a new camera. I won't delve into how but I will say a very big thank you to the person helping me out! You see although I was dreaming about the alpha 350, it was a long ways away and if my camera hadn't of broke it wouldn't have been an option. I have no idea how, from sitting in a camera bag, the thing went south, and what seemed devestating this morning has turned into a blessing. Funny how that works isn't it? I guess it goes to show that that even bad things can be a blessing in desguise. It must have been in the stars that I have a better camera for starting my business.
